Browser Tests: Tables

So you think your browser supports tables completely. Wrong!—I have yet to find one that does. The pages in this section are designed to show browser developers what else they need to support, and Web authors aspects they may not be aware of.

Headers, Footers, & Scrolling
HTML 4.01 introduced a few new tags for tables, including thead, tfoot, and tbody. These can be used to designate that sets of rows be displayed at the top and bottom of each screen or page, so that headers and footers may always be displayed. This would make large tables far more readable, without having to resort to the use of images, PDF or Java to create tables that actually work.
